RESIDENT CAMP NURSE JOB DESCRIPTION:
Resident Camp Nurse positions are open at this beautiful 300-acre camp in Oracle, Arizona, just north of Tucson. On-campus housing is available, which includes utilities, lodging, and meals. The Resident Camp Nurse supports the work of the YMCA of Southern Arizona, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities. The Nurse is responsible for providing high quality healthcare for the Triangle Y Ranch Camp & Retreat Center campers and staff within budgeted guidelines. This position will oversee the sanitary conditions of the camp and provide leadership for camp risk management. The Resident Camp Nurse will be involved with many tasks that affect the well-being of the staff and campers while adhering to safety systems and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A RESIDENT CAMP NURSE:
- Ensures Infirmary/Wellness Center is sanitary, organized, and stocked.
- Creates and maintains accurate and detailed accounts of all medical records.
- Reviews and verifies the health history of camp participants as they arrive and depart.
- Provides leadership and models excellent customer service to provide a welcoming environment for all staff, members and guests by following customer service best practices.
- Delivers a personalized approach when engaging with program participants that creates a positive experience.
- Effectively engages with diverse groups of people with different abilities and backgrounds.
- Establishes proper protocol for medication storage and dispensing.
- Conducts arrival and departure inventory of the Infirmary/Wellness Center. Requests supplies as necessary.
- Contacts camp participant parents/legal guardians in case of medical emergencies.
- Takes ownership through seeking to understand concerns and successfully takes actions to resolve each unique healthcare situation. Notifies appropriate leadership in a timely manner to ensure the best outcome for all parties involved.
- Has the ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations while adhering to the safety policies and procedures set by the YMCA of Southern Arizona
- Follows and enforces all YMCA procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, safety guidelines, facility access procedures and membership policies. Carries out emergency plans as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS OF A RESIDENT CAMP NURSE:
- At Least 21 years of age.
- Certified Registered Nurse, in good standing, in the state of Arizona
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR, AED, & First Aid certifications for Adults/Children/Infants.
- Completion of YMCA online training within 7 days.
- Experience working with pediatric and adult patients.
- Current Tuberculosis test and Hepatitis B vaccination
- Confident and experienced with administering injections and medications.
- Comfortable working under standing orders from a medical provider.
- Previous experience with diverse populations and/or the ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
- Excellent Customer service skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
